Changing Coverage?

If you are moving to a new state, changing jobs, out of work, turning 65, or your employer has stopped offering insurance, Lifetime Health Protection can help you explore your coverage options. Choosing insurance plans can be difficult. That’s why I make it easy. I’ll make the calls, compare the plans and prices, and find you the insurance plan that fits your needs. Best of all, my help is at no cost to you.

Marketplace

Lifetime Health Protection offers multiple health insurance companies under the Marketplace. Marketplace plans can’t refuse to cover you or charge you more just because you have a “pre-existing condition” — that is, a health problem you had before the date that new health coverage starts. Outside the Open Enrollment Period, you can only enroll in or change your Marketplace plan if you have a life event that qualifies you for a Special Enrollment Period. Qualifying for premium tax credits and cost-sharing reductions could reduce you out-of-pocket exposure. If you qualify for cost-sharing reductions, you also have a lower out-of-pocket maximum — the total amount you’d have to pay for covered medical services per year. When you reach your out-of-pocket maximum, your insurance plan covers 100% of all covered services.

Short-Term Plans

Need insurance as early as tomorrow to cover the next 30 to 90 days? It’s even possible to make a single payment for the whole coverage period, depending on the insurance company. Lifetime Health Protection offers several Short-term plans for an initial term of up to 364 days with the chance to renew up to 36 months. Short-term plans appeal to anyone who don’t require regular medical care, such as frequent visits to the doctor or expensive prescriptions. Although these plans do not have as many benefits as major medical health insurance, they provide some coverage that’s still affordable for many people.Short-term plans are temporary coverage and generally do not cover pre-exiting conditions. A condition developed while on a short term plan may prevent you from renewing or may be excluded from your policy once you renew.

Note that Medigap Plan D is not the same thing as Medicare Part D, which is prescription drug coverage. Medicare prescription drug coverage is an optional benefit offered to everyone who has Medicare. However, if you decide not to get Medicare drug coverage when you're first eligible, you'll likely pay a late enrollment penalty if you join later, unless you have other creditable prescription drug coverage or you get Extra Help.

MEDICARE ADVANTAGE

Lifetime Health Protection of Medicare Advantage Plans, sometimes called "Part C" or "MA Plans," are an “all in one” alternative to Original Medicare from multiple carriers in Texas. Medicare Advantage Plans are a type of Medicare health plan offered by a private company that contracts with Medicare to provide all your Part A (hospital insurance), Part B (Medical Insurance), and usually include Medicare prescription drug (Part D) benefits.
